♦  No longer than 1.5 feet on longest side.

♦  No higher than 6 inches

 

Points

♦  3 points: Winner of the contest

♦  1 point: Knock the ball out of the ring - last robot to touch the ball before it goes out gets the point

♦  1 point each: If a tie

   Time per contest: 1 minute
   Scoring
      ♦  3 points for winner (knocking other robot completely out - or if other is DQ or immobilized, etc
      ♦  1 point for knocking ball out (last robot to touch gets credit)
      ♦  1 point each if a tie

      ♦  2 points for knocking a robot completely out or immobilizing a robot, 1 point for each robot remaining at end
      ♦  1 1/2 points for knocking ball out, 1 1/2 points for knocking axle out (last robot to touch gets credit for each)

 

 

Objective

 

   Completely knock other robot out of ring (or drag using a gripper) or immobilize other robot

   Immobilize defined as not being able to move from current position within a 10 second period

 

Time per Contest

 

   1 minute

 

Competitors

 

   2 teams per contest in first round

 

Equipment

 

   Any sensors or parts issued or available from the cabinet

Disqualification

   Touch either robot, either with body or with cable

   Cannont move for 10 consecutive seconds

   Pull robot with cable

Scoring

   3 points for winner

   1 point for competing - moving along with a valid attempt to eject or immobilize opponent

Tactics Considerations

   Weapon: Gripper?, Wedge?, Slapper? Turn opponent off device, etc.

   Gear ratio

      ♦  Speed?

      ♦  Torque to move opponent?

   Size and mass versus agility?

   Sensor use?

      ♦  Ultrasonic to trigger the gripper or other item?

      ♦  LIght to determine boundaries?
