CS Contests and Activities

Prerequisites for Participation

 

 

These contests are Computer Science co-curricular activities; participation is by permission of the sponsor. As appropriate, participation is reflected in a student's final grade for marking periods 2, 3, and 4.

 

Notes
 
  If accepted for participation in one of contests or clubs, participation can be terminated
      for violation of any of the following criteria.
  If removed from a team or contest, the student will not be readmitted for at least
      one semester after the removal.
 
Criteria for participation include the following:

 

  At least a 2 on the last 2 behavioral expecation grades.  
  Not currently under any type of school suspension.
  Course requirements.
 
        Science Olympiad.
 
        Successful completion of the Summer Session Mobile Robotics course or current
        enrollment in or successful completion of one of the following Regular Session
        courses: Mobile Robotics, C++, or Java.
 
        Adventures in Super Computing.
 
          Successful completion of or current enrollment in either Java or C++.
 
        Computing Olympiad.
 
          Successful completion of or current enrollment in C++.
 
        Science Fair.
 
          Current enrollment in Visual Basic; successful completion of or current enrollment
          in Java, C++, Advanced Studies, or Mobile Robotics.
         
        West Point Engineering Design.
 
          Current enrollment in Visual Basic; successful completion of or current enrollment
          in Java, C++, Advanced Studies, or Mobile Robotics.

 

          SPACE.

 

             Successful completion of or current enrollment in a Computer Science class.

 

  Timely completion of required submissions.
  Attendance at contest meetings and required trips.
  Appropriate contributions to the team effort.
  Compliance with rules published by sponsoring organization.
  Class requirements published by sponsoring organization - high school, for example.
